Another beautiful day for sailing with Manly Sailability on Sydney’s North Harbour. Many excited participants arrived who were looking forward to experience some time on the water. They were not disappointed.
The morning’s haze & humidity quickly dissipated when a nice Southerly breeze came in. A very high spring tide resulted in some wet feet on the walkway to our floating pontoon.
All 7 of our 2-person dinghies were rigged & utilised. It was great that so many of our capable sailors volunteered to take the participants out for a sail. The sailors today were Denis, John P, Jim, Jeremy, John B, Peter W, Michael, Jonathan & Brian. Many reported that the large South-East swell added to the day’s excitement.
Warwick drove our safety boat, “Charlie’s Chariot”, with help from a variety of assistants, commencing with Ken. The team on the floating pontoon were kept as busy as usual. Special thanks to the regular team on the deck, Helen, Wilma & Eli, who ensured that the participants were all properly registered and supplied with the appropriate life jackets & harnesses. Corey continued his important task of maintaining radio communication with all our boats sailing.
