Clouds gathered over Manly Cove this morning but the rain held off, making for a calm morning’s sailing, in a light westerly breeze.
Some of our volunteers had time to get some sailing in before participants arrived, and regular participants Judith and Ivan were both out on the water early in Clea and Alan Wood – our single-hand Hansa 2.3s. Steve was Sailing Co-ordinator for the day, and expertly managed the traffic in and out of the dock. Victoria, Nomusa, Joe, Michael M, and Wolfie helped out on the pontoon, with Sophie, Sandy, Denis, Ragnhild, Warwick, Jeremy and Clare out sailing. Helen, Wilma and Ros managed things on the dock, while Eli ran comms on the radios. David W and Ken kept a watchful eye from Charlie’s Chariot, and gave rides to many of our participants. We had groups from Sunnyfield and CM Care – some of whom were sailing for the first time ever – as well as Shane with his carer.
Thanks to all our volunteers for an enjoyable morning!
