The weather was perfect for us this morning, a light north easterly blowing, making life very easy for our sailors, and quite exciting with the quick gusts whipping across the surface every so often. James was the first down for a sail, followed by our Sargood team, Kaitlyn, Blaire and Dean. Daniel arrived with his helper and preferred to sit and take in the scenery before going for his sail, then Tim arrived from Trilogy, electing for a ride on Charlie’s Chariot. Suddenly, we were very busy, with Vanessa, Laurie, Anna, Ashley, and Kerrie arriving, so that we suddenly had our 6 boats full. Then Ollie, and his friends from school arrived; Billy and Ryder. Sam arrived with Becca. We set up his boat with the ‘whales tail’ made sure Charlie’s Chariot was on hand and off they went, followed by Judy and Matt. Last to go for a sail was Fiona, off for her sailing lesson with proud Mum watching from the pontoon.

Slideshow of   Ginny the photographer, Charlie’s Chariot staff, Ivan and Daniel in ING, Denis and Dean in Woody,
Sam and Michael in Alex. Our busy pontoon with the boats returning.

None of this would have been possible without our fabulous team for today, led by the inimical David W, who, as Sailing Coordinator kept everything moving efficiently.
Pontoon manager was David G, with pontoon staff Maleea, Jim Y and Scott.
On Charlies Chariot we had Warwick, Ken, and Ginny with the camera.
Sailors were: Jim G, Denis, Ivan, Caroline, Vince, Helene.
Extra helpers for the clean up team: Jannie and Marc.
New volunteers learning the ropes: Nikki, Brian, Philip, thanks so much for joining the team.
Deck crew: Lyn, Helen, Wilma, new chef today: Val.

Carol, a very special guest, came today from Cascais, in Portugal. She just couldn’t believe the similarities with her home club….same boats, same hoists, same sails, same wheelchairs, some of the people even looked the same. She has some lovely pictures and stories to take home with her.
