What a fabulous morning for the first day back in 2017. We had a perfect team of helpers.

Jackie was the Sailing Coordinator and did a powerful job of organising boats into the water, then participants and their guests to achieve a high level of involvement.

Ray was the time-keeper, Helen the registrar and chef, Wilma in her role as life-jacket coordinator, Denis a fabulous Boat Operations Manager. Tony was in his element as general organiser of all things. Our sailors were: Ivan, Jackie, Caroline, Cathy, David W. On the pontoon were: Mike and Kevin. Jim was the Charlie’s Chariot Skipper with an assortment of observers. Ken worked his butt off on the deck from early in the morning bringing gear out of the boat shed, until later in the day when we were packing up. Marc was also worth his weight in gold with the extra hand at the end of the day. Thanks so much to our young helpers Tamim and Oswin who were a great help with getting the gear out early in the morning, and back after lunch.

We had some wonderful new participants this morning: Sam, Hannah and Eddie who had come in response to some advertising in the New Northern Beaches Disability Newsletter. Some of our regulars came down: Daniel, Laurie, Ollie, Judy, Vanessa. Patrick and Philip were both there sailing independently. Steve tried out and appreciated the new Stabilo seating, as did we all, as it is so simple to use, and keeps the participant well supported and feeling comfortable. Alyssa, Robert, Susie and Ben arrived too late to sail, but enjoyed the picnics, and sitting in the cool air of the Yacht Club deck.

It took a while to put everything away, but all was completed by mid-afternoon, with a beautifully tidy boat room.
