Early in the morning, the wind did not seem to be doing what was forecast, so the marvellous volunteers from Manly rigged 6 boats and waited for the participants to arrive. Megan, Juliette and Kate went off with Hugo, David W and Denis, to get swept across the bay, all the time the wind getting stronger.

By the time they arrived back at the pontoon, we decided to furl, and the next group had arrived, so Ross and Ros  went, and then the wind was just a very strong westerly, too damaging on our boats and people to remain out on the water. Ross, Laurie, Daniel, Matt, Vanessa and Richard had also arrived, adding to the fun.

That was when our BIRDS Group arrived, and later the group from Waitara, but there was no more sailing, just a very social morning, with people sitting around, socialising, drinking coffee, eating the excellent lunch cooked by Helen and Wilma.

Peter, Shahub, Ros, photographer for today and Jim were being bounced around on Charlie’s Chariot, not the most comfortable ride, so they brought all the boats back, and we washed and put them away.

Helpers not already mentioned for today were: Mal, Ray, John, re-upholstering the seat of Charlie’s Chariot, David G., Lyn, selling Raffle tickets, Tony, Michael, Jay, on the pontoon, and Jannie.
