This was one of those days when we have gone through the spectrum of seasons. The day started with a definite wintry feeling, and no-one believed it when I suggested in my phone message that sailing would go ahead, as the rain looked as if it was bound seaward.Photo of a beautiful sail on a beautiful day.

By the time the first group arrived, the sun was shining, the sky blue, a summer lull in the wind…a perfect Summer day. Then the wind came up, the temperature dropped and it seemed that Autumn or Spring were on their way. In spite of these changes in the weather, our child participants were having the most fantastic time out on the water, either on a sailing dinghy, or Photo of Angel, Nicholas and Sean in Charlie’s Chariot.on Charlie’s Chariot if this was the choice. Most of the DY Photo of John and Krystle in Eli Dstudents had a go at both. By the time we had completed all of our sailing, the wind was too strong and we packed everything away.

Many thanks to our helpers today: Sailing Coordinator Excellente; Brian, Pontoon Manager, David W, who did a brilliant job with reefing when it became necessary; sailors; Colin, Rob, Michael, John G, David G, John M. Helping up on deck were Denis in his role as time-keeper, Tony, Rowell, Helen and Caroline, and on the pontoon; Philip, Dave Goldner. Last of all was our Support Boat Crew; John W, Corey and Freya wielding the camera.

Our participants this morning were Far West Students: Michael, Dylan, Brock, Jordan, Hannah, Krystal, Katie with helpers Matt and Helen.

And lucky last, because they just go there in time before the wind became too strong; Andy, Kerry, Lyle, Fowzia, with helper Karen.

The boats were perfectly put away, leaving the boat room as tidy as directed by David W, and a thoroughly stupendous morning was completed.
