A very limited number of Sailing Participants gathered on Saturday for a long, leisurely sail. It was great practice for the volunteers who relished the steady north westerly, enabling a long training sail.

Our participants, Oliver, Paul, James, Judy, Sid, Sam and Eddie loved this extended sail, as did their carers who had a long chat while waiting for their charges to return. The relaxed atmosphere today, also gave Sid an opportunity to get to know the environment, how it feels to wear a life-jacket, a ride on Charlie’s Chariot and lots of fun on the deck. In the meantime, Mum, Rajni, also got the feel of Sailability and am sure will be back for more.

Volunteers: Caroline, Ray, Tony, Helen, Denis, Lyn, Ivan, David G and David W., Michael, Nick, Ros, Jim, Ken, Helene, Jannie also enjoyed the day, Denis taking the opportunity to do some repairs to ING, as well as go for a long training sail with Nick, getting him up to scratch for taking participants out for a sail in the coming weeks. Caroline had a session on Charlie’s Chariot after many weeks of concentrating on sailing, and also managed to fill the program for this month’s end of season Regatta.

Helen was busy with the barbecue. Thanks so much, Helen, I have had several comments on how beautifully cooked this week’s sausages and onions on bread were.
