The sun greeted us this Saturday morning and we warmed up as 5 boats were rigged for the sailing session.
A good crew turned up with 14 of the regular volunteers plus young Gigi, John W’s grand-daughter who obviously enjoyed being part of the team. We also had the pleasure of welcoming Patricia and Chris, 2 new apprentice volunteers. Patricia sailed with Denis and Chris with Jeremy and at the end of the morning, both decided to become members. A 100% success rate!
Talking of membership, it was a busy day at the front desk for Jackie with the renewal forms, and 11 members were added to the tally.
Corey was efficient as ever with time keeping and communication on the radio. While in the background, Ros was cleaning the plastic cups. Thank you, they look as good as new! We thank Andrew’s mother for the delicious slice she sent with Jack for our morning tea.
Clare with Warwick, then with Jeremy were on Charlie’s Chariot overlooking the operations in Manly Cove.
They had an unusual passenger for a little while, in the form of Gem, the labrador assistance dog which kept an eye on her mistress Alexa and daughter Penny as they were sailing. A total of 15 participants enjoyed sailing by a light wind with groups from Cerebral Palsy Alliance, Luz All Abilities and Sargood.
