We sailed this morning first of all with the keen Royal Far West students, 3 Chloe’s,Photo of Chloe from Royal Far West; Beau, Brody, Michael, Hallie, Christopher, Geoffrey and Brayden. These students came early, and had plenty of time, so each one managed a sail, and a turn in the support boat. Some are sailing well after their second or third visit, and enjoyed steering across the ferry lane in the quiet conditions, while others just sat and took it all in. After this group, Gary, Hannah Photo of Hannah from Forest MAPS and helper, Noelani, and Alice from Forestville arrived. All three had a leisurely sail around, mostly asleep, and definitely very relaxed. Our last group for the morning was Kaye,Photo of Kaye and helper from Achieve in Charlie’s Chariot; Andy, Susie and Fowzia from Achieve,Photo of Michael and Fowzia from Achieve. another group who just love their sailing and enjoy calm, light breezes. Alan arrived a little later to help up on deck, and to go for a training sail.

This sailing was made possible by our excellent team, this morning consisting of Sailing Coordinator Extraordinaire, Sue, Pontoon Manager, Eli, Support Boat Driver Pam, Observer, Corey, Sailors; Denis, Ivan, David, Michael, Deck hands: Helen, John, Barry and Karen, Pontoon hands: Philip, Konrad, Michael, Caroline, and Tony.

While the sailing was running along nicely, some of our trainee sailors took a 303 out solo, to get used to the feeling of being in complete charge. It appears that we now have 2 more competent sailors, and 2 more that need a little extra training.
