A small group of Sailability new and old volunteers arranged for a practise day today, as it was the fifth Wednesday of the month, meaning that there would be no sailing for our groups. It gave us a good opportunity to have some sailing practise for some of our less experienced sailors, ensuring that we have a group of well trained sailors ready to take some of our participants with extra needs on the water.

Photo of the group discussin boat theory.Denis gave us a short reminder chat about how our boats work and we divided ourselves into pairs for rigging and sailing. Pam and Didi, Denis and Karen, Max and Phillip, David and Alan, Ivan and Eli each rigged their own 303, launched it and took off across the bay.

Barry was driving Charlie’s Chariot, with a new volunteer Kia as observer, so that Barry was also able to give advice to some sailors.

It was a really good sailing day, and we all enjoyed the experience. After we reached the pontoon, everyone helped with the de-rigging,Photo of David hosing off the boat. putting away, and the clean up, and agreed that we would have another similar practise next time there are 5 Wednesdays in the month.
